We may collect:

• Account data — name, email, profile photo, and identifiers from sign-in providers (LinkedIn, Meta, GitHub, or other methods we offer).
• Profile data — main role, bio, location/hub, social links, and visibility settings you choose.
• Trust data — vouches, relationship context, trait tags, and related activity in your chain.
• Usage data — pages visited, device/browser type, approximate location from IP, and diagnostic logs needed to run and secure the Service.

We use information to:

• Create and manage your account and public/findable profile
• Power vouching, search, and trust-distance ranking
• Send transactional messages related to invites and account activity
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with:

• Other users — according to your visibility settings and what you or others share through vouches and tags (for example, your name on a public profile).
• Service providers — such as hosting, authentication, email, and analytics vendors who process data on our behalf.
• Legal / safety — when required by law or to protect Known Guy, users, or the public.

We use cookies and similar technologies (including local storage) to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as intent), measure basic usage, and keep the Service secure.

We keep account and trust data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account by contacting Support. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we process data in different countries, we take steps appropriate to the nature of the transfer and applicable law.

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
